Thanksgiving Event Organized by Senator Ekpenyong with Dignitaries


In Calabar, Cross River State, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong and his family recently Organized guests from across the nation. The occasion, which took place on Saturday, November 25, 2023, was a sincere act of thanksgiving to the All-Powerful God. It covered important life events such as the birth of his son, Anam Ekpenyong, his victory in the Senate race, his ensuing inauguration as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and his appointment as the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission's Chairman.

Calabar, a Canaanite city, welcomed a wide array of notables who stood behind the senator and his family in an incredible show of solidarity. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Senate President His Excellency Godswill Obot Akpabio, who headed a group of more than 50 senators and thirty members of the House of Representatives, were in attendance at the ceremony. Governors of Kwara State, Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Bassey Otu and his deputy, Rt Hon.Peter Odey, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr' Betta Edu, Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sport Development, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of Gas Resources, His Excellency Donald Duke and his wife, Her Excellency Onari Duke


APC State Chairman Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba, NDDC Chairman Chiedu Ebie, Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Obong of Calabar and other traditional rulers, the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Elvert Ayambem, Executive Directors of the NDDC, SMEDAN DG Charles Odii, current and former Commissioners in the Cross River State Executive Council, current and former members of the Cross River House of Assembly, and captains of industry were among the other dignitaries present at the event. 

His Eminence Ekpenyong N. Akpanika, Prelate and Moderator of the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, officiated at the Thanksgiving and infant baptism service at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria's Duke Town Cathedral. The reception was held at the Calabar International Convention Centre.



In his message of goodwill, the Chief Host of the event, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, expressed his sincere gratitude for the dignitaries' attendance and commended them for their joint efforts to further the development of the country. The Governor outlined his goals for the nation's prosperity and unity and stressed the value of cooperation across regional boundaries as a component of  success.

In addition to pleading for national unity, Senate President His Excellency Senator Godswill Akpabio made a moving speech in which he thanked God for all of his blessings. Acknowledging the gracious hospitality of the Cross River State The Senate President also recognised the importance of the gathering of political leaders from all backgrounds. He expressed his admiration for Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong's outstanding accomplishments and promised to stand with him so that he might continue to do even more for his people.


Senator Ekpenyong expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended the event in his speech. In addition to that, he extended special thanks to his spouse, Netanela, and other family members, such as his parents, HRH Etinyin and Dr. Asuquo Ekpenyong, as well as Southern Senatorial District residents, friends, and well-wishers. The Senate President also recognised the importance of the event, which united leaders from all political parties. He expressed his admiration for Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong's outstanding accomplishments and promised to stand with him so that he might continue to do even more for his people.
