Osinbajo Cancels 2017 Budget Signing in the Last Minute




Yemi Osinbajo will no longer sign the 2017 budget today by 9am after inviting Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara to the official Budget Signing event of the 2017 Appropriation Bill. 

 


A top National Assembly source had earlier disclosed that the Budget Signing will take place today, Thursday 1st June, 2017 by 9.00am at the Aso Rock Villa with Acting President Osinbajo giving executive assent.


 


According to a new report by TheCable news, the acting President will no longer sign the 2017 budget as a source revealed that the presidency made a last-minute cancellation of the exercise.


 


It was gathered that a team from the presidency had on Wednesday, met with the leadership of the legislature where it was disclosed that the budget would be signed the next day.


 


A source at the meeting said signing of the budget was the main issue that the presidential team discussed with the lawmakers.


 


But later in the evening, the leadership of the national assembly was informed that the exercise would no longer go on as planned.
