House of Representative Member Freed After Paying Huge Ransom








House of Representatives member, Garba Durbunde, who was abducted along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, on Wednesday has been released.


 


Durbunde, a former a Commissioner for Rural and Community Development after a stint at the Kano House of Assembly, was abducted while returning to the Federal Capital Territory after a trip to Kano.


 


According to reports by TheCable, the lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila was released after an undisclosed sum was paid as ransom.





FeAn aide to the lawmaker, Tunde Adela, confirmed his release.


 


Earlier, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano had condemned the abduction, describing the act as “an act of wickedness perpetrated by evil and cold-hearted elements.”
